Job summary

The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 1–3 years of claims handling, and proficiency with MS Office. A hybrid work arrangement is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• State licensure as required for the role.
• 1–3 years claims handling experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office suites.
• Demonstrated skills in investigation, evaluation and negotiation.
• Knowledge of insurance theory and practices.

Responsibilities

• Investigates claims by contacting involved parties and gathering information.
• Verifies coverage and policy conditions and drafts positions as needed.
• Interacts internally/externally to obtain required information.
• Establishes reserves and adjusts based on facts and standards.
• Effectively settles non-litigated claims through negotiation.
• Builds judgment and decision-making skills to assess key issues.
• Maintains relationships with customers and earns trust.
• Learns technical material and improves outcomes for claimants and company.
• Writes clear, factual notes in Claims files and correspondence.
• Manages time, priorities, and diary entries in a fast-paced environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
