Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is hiring an Auto Body Technician in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on meticulous assessment and quality repair to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition, using tools like cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hammers.

You will collaborate with teammates to ensure speed, quality, and customer excellence. Responsibilities include planning repairs, repairing or replacing parts and glass, welding, and repainting, while completing work orders within standard labor times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and work in a loud environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles with precision.
• Replace damaged sections and glass, weld parts, and repaint as needed.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect finished work.
• Collaborate with other repairers to meet KPIs.
