Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Oneonta, AL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will assess damage, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and refinish vehicles with speed and quality in mind.

You will plan repair work, prepare estimates, and work with cutting tools, plasma cutters, jacks, hammers, and pliers. You’ll inspect finished work and ensure safety and quality before delivery to customers.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
• Ability to read and interpret job orders and work with supervision.
• Thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles ensuring quality and speed.
• Hammers out dents and repairs damaged sections; replaces damaged parts.
• Realigns chassis/frames and performs welding or fitting of parts.
• Welds and refits components; preps and repaints to factory specs.
• Ensure work orders are completed within labor time guidelines and inspect finished work.
