Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in California is seeking an Auto Body Technician to diagnose, repair, disassemble, and reassemble vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will work with a team to meet KPIs, ensuring speed, quality, and exceptional customer experience.

Install, replace, or repair glass and interior parts, weld and fit parts, and repaint as needed. A high school diploma or technical training is required; apprenticeship is welcome.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to pre-accident condition.
• Realign chassis/frames and replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts.
• Replace or repair glass, interiors, and paint as needed.
• Ensure work orders are completed within labor guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
