Job summary

Gersh Autism is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician (Paraprofessional) to join our team. This position supports students with autism in academic and behavioral settings and helps them reach individualized goals.

You will implement IEPs/BIPs, provide one-on-one and small group support, collect data, and collaborate with teachers and behavioral specialists to create a positive learning environment. Training and growth are encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience with children, especially with autism or special needs, is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to pursue RBT certification within a specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEPs and BIPs for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to promote academic, social, and behavioural growth.
• Help students with daily tasks including communication, social interaction, and self-management.
• Prepare materials and assist students for daily activities and transitions.
• Support during classroom activities, field trips, and school events.
• Apply strategies from behaviour intervention plans to promote self-regulation.
• Collect and document data on student performance and progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and behavioural specialists to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Communicate progress and challenges to teachers and staff.
• Participate in daily training with behavioural analysts and ongoing professional development.
