Gersh Autism in Long Island City, NY is seeking a Behavior Technician (Paraprofessional) to join our Academy for Young Minds classrooms. You will work directly with students on the autism spectrum, supporting academics and behavior, implementing IEPs and BIPs, and contributing to individualized goals.

This full-time, 12-month position offers daily training with behavioral analysts, opportunities to advance within the Gersh Autism network, and a schedule Monday to Friday 8:00am–3:00pm (with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher degree preferred.
• Experience with children with autism is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to pursue RBT certification within a specified time frame.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist the classroom teacher with implementing IEPs and BIPs for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, promoting academic, social, and behavioral growth.
• Help students with daily tasks, including communication, social interaction, and self-management.
• Prepare materials and assist with daily activities and field trips.
• Collect and document data on student performance, behavior, and progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and behavioral specialists to create a positive learning environment.
• Communicate progress and challenges with staff and families as appropriate.
• Participate in daily training sessions with behavioral analysts and professional development.
