Job summary

Gersh Autism is seeking a compassionate Behavior Technician to work directly with students aged 5-21 across our K-12 network. You will support academic and behavioral goals, implement IEPs and BIPs, and help students develop communication, social, and self-management skills.

This 12-month, year-round program offers hands-on training, daily collaboration with teachers and specialists, and opportunities for registration as an RBT.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience with children, especially with autism or special needs, is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to pursue RBT certification within a specified time frame.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain patient, empathetic and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEPs and BIPs for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students.
• Help students with daily tasks including communication and self-management.
• Prepare materials and assist with daily transitions and clothing/devices.
• Support classroom activities, field trips and events.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies to promote self-regulation.
• Collect and document data on student performance and progress.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and behavioral specialists.
• Communicate progress and challenges to teachers.
• Participate in daily training sessions with behavioral analysts.
