Gersh Autism is seeking a Behavior Technician (Paraprofessional) in Long Island City, NY. You will work directly with students on the autism spectrum, supporting academic and behavioral goals under IEPs and BIPs.

As a full-time member of our 12-month school program, you’ll provide one-on-one and small-group assistance, help with daily tasks, and participate in daily training to pursue RBT certification, with opportunities for career advancement within the Gersh Autism network.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Experience with children, especially with autism or special needs, is a plus.
• Willingness to pursue RBT certification within a set timeframe.
• Opportunities for growth within the Gersh Autism network after certification.

Responsabilidades

• Assist classroom teacher with IEPs and BIPs for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to foster academic and social growth.
• Help students with daily tasks, communication and self-management skills.
• Prepare students and materials for activities and transitions during the day.
• Document data on student progress and collaborate with the team.
• Participate in training with behavior analysts to grow in the field.
