Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Governance to lead NCAA, conference, and UNC compliance initiatives. You will monitor rules related to student‑athletes, staff and NIL activities, providing authoritative guidance and risk mitigation.

The role reports to senior leadership, collaborates with campus partners, and requires strong communication. Eligibility Center familiarity and prior compliance experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree required with 0–2 years of related experience, or combination.
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules systems (Eligibility Center, CAi, RSRO, LSDBi) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and apply NCAA, CSC, ACC, and UNC compliance rules affecting student‑athletes, staff, and officials.
• Serve as subject matter expert on NCAA Bylaw 12 matters and provide interpretation to mitigate risk.
• Act as primary liaison to student‑athletes on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) activities and related compliance obligations.
• Educate stakeholders on evolving NIL rules and coordinate with campus partners and legal counsel as needed.
• Support policy development and process improvements to enhance institutional compliance.
