Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking a Director for Compliance to ensure adherence to NCAA, ACC and University rules. The role provides timely guidance to internal and external stakeholders and helps interpret regulations as needed.

Responsibilities include interpreting rules, managing waivers and violations, roster oversight, NIL activity monitoring, and preparing required reports such as APR and GSR. Strong communication and collaboration across teams are essential.

Qualifications

• NCAA rules knowledge and ability to interpret regulations.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience in athletics compliance preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide rules interpretations; process waivers and submit violations; roster management; educate on rules.
• Coordinate and monitor external facing communication channels for Compliance Office.
• Staff liaison with Teamworks Compliance+Recruiting Software.
• Monitor NCAA governance and educate stakeholders about proposals.
• Investigate violations, prepare reports, waivers and reinstatements.
• Manage APR, GSR and NCAA required reports.
• Oversee Student Assistance Fund and related taxes/insurance.
• Monitor state/federal laws impacting college athletics; ensure Title IX compliance.
• Assist with NIL submission processes and related oversight.
• Provide information for drug testing program.
