Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks an Associate for Transaction Advisory/Financial Due Diligence to support financial due diligence, analyze income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows, and identify key risks for investments and transactions.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of audit experience, a Bachelor's/Master's in Accounting, CPA or in progress, and strong Excel/PowerPoint proficiency. The role emphasizes teamwork and delivering clear, data-driven insights in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of audit experience at a top accounting firm
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and/or related major
• CPA or in the process of obtaining one
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
• High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• Flexibility to work as both a team member and as an individual contributor
• Ability to thrive and be effective in fast-paced settings

Responsibilities

• Assist with core financial due diligence, helping to identify key risks and potential deal breakers, assess strengths and weaknesses against benchmarks, and aid in evaluating potential transactions
• Analyze detailed financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) and synthesize data for discussions with target management
• Assess the quality of reported earnings, net assets and cash flows
• Construct deal-oriented reports and presentations highlighting financial and commercial findings and support negotiation points
• Participate in meetings with target management and client personnel as a secondary contact for day-to-day execution
• Build and maintain client relationships and explore business development opportunities
