Job summary

Southern Connecticut State University is seeking an Associate Director for Academic Support to lead and expand the Center for Academic Success and Accessibility Services. This role mentors staff, oversees tutoring and related programs, and ensures equitable access to academic resources across campus.

The Associate Director will collaborate with faculty and administrators to design assessment strategies, manage budgets, and promote student learning and success.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or related field.
• Minimum of four years of knowledge and experience working in academic/learning support.
• Ability to develop innovative academic support programming and manage projects independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience supervising students and/or staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for academic support services within the Center for Academic Success and Accessibility Services and university-wide programs.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and student employees; maintain CRLA certifications.
• Collaborate across campus to ensure equitable access and effective use of technology in academic support.
• Develop assessment plans with measurable goals to improve student learning and well-being.
• Build and maintain the Southern Testing Center and manage related budgets.
• Establish strong relationships with chairs, deans, and faculty to develop needed support for students.
• Develop marketing plans to attract students to the Center and participate in university events.
• Stay current with best practices in academic success and use of technology.
