River-Crossing YMCA Bethlehem is seeking a certified teacher passionate about bringing the best out in kids, connecting to our community and having fun in a vibrant after-school program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher; degrees in childhood education, child development, or related field preferred
• 18+ and 2+ years of experience with children in professional, volunteer, or family settings
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn
• Be patient and kind with parents
• Design age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
• Foster a safe, nurturing environment encouraging growth
• Maintain program records, including child files and portfolios
• Adjust curriculum to meet learning objectives
• Follow state and YMCA guidelines to ensure safety and well-being of children

What is needed for this job

• High school diploma, Associate/Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
• Are 18+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances
