Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an assistant teacher for part-time, hourly work in Mount Laurel Township, NJ. The role focuses on planning engaging activities, nurturing a supportive childcare environment, and maintaining cleanliness and safety across programs.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least 2 years (2500 hours) of verified childcare experience, with opportunities to grow within a community-focused nonprofit.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons are offered.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines of the children.
• Supervise each child in your care by being able to identify, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST, always ensuring a safe environment.
• Uphold all YMCA, State, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for overall commitment to quality in childcare.
