Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store under the Store Manager. You will assist with supervision of employees, merchandise presentation, deposits, and daily paperwork, while stocking, cashiering, and performing other duties to maximize profitability and protect assets.

This role requires supervising staff, opening/closing, planning floor displays, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting store leadership in absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and providing training.
• Follow company work processes to manage merchandise and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and planograms.
• Assist with financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash handling procedures.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
