Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will supervise staff, assist with merchandising, deposits, and paperwork, and perform stocking and cashier duties to maximize profitability and protect assets.

The role involves opening/closing duties several days, training employees, enforcing policies, and maintaining inventory integrity in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lead store operations and protect company assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training, and conduct safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise flow including receiving, stocking, restocking and creating displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and control damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure planograms are followed and merchandise is presented as directed.
