Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, merchandise presentation, cash handling, and deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and adherence to policies, ensuring efficient store operations and strong customer service. This full-time role requires reliability and attention to detail in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year of retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and train employees and maintain store standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, and conducting safety meetings.
• Follow process to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and controls.
• Implement and maintain planograms; ensure merchandise presentation per standards.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures; sign for refunds and deposits.
• Assist with store leadership in the Store Manager's absence.
