Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under Store Manager direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and assist with deposits and paperwork to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

You will handle stocking, cashiering, and planogram implementation, while ensuring cash accountability and adherence to security procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, restocking and displaying according to planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist with cash control, refunds, overrides, and deposits to ensure financial integrity.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
