Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and a customer-first focus. You will help supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, prepare deposits, and perform stocking and cash handling with an emphasis on profitability and loss prevention.

The role includes opening/closing duties, training, safety meetings, planogram implementation, and reporting. A strong candidate will have retail experience and supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner; cash-handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Implement and maintain planograms and ensure proper product presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier controls and deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
