Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, prepare deposits, and support the Store Manager in daily operations.

You will also handle stocking, cashier duties, and adherence to policies to maximize profits and protect assets. This role requires reliability in scheduling, training, and maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and train employees.
• Ability to manage merchandise, pricing and planograms.
• Ability to perform cash handling and deposits accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
