Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store. You’ll support the Store Manager with staff supervision, merchandise presentation, and deposits while performing stocking and cashiering tasks to maximize profits and reduce losses.

You’ll lead sales associates, schedule training, enforce policies, and help maintain planograms and inventory accuracy. The role requires strong communication and math skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, displays, and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure cashier accountability and deposits; support store manager in their absence.
