Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development in our Washington area location.

You will assist with day-to-day store activities, train and support store associates, ensure a safe, clean environment, and help manage inventories and cashier processes to meet company standards. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Requires store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and handling damaged goods; record-keeping.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep bathrooms, floors, and stockrooms clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned.
