Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves assisting with day-to-day activities, merchandising, and adherence to company policies.

You will help supervise staff, maintain safety, and ensure a positive shopping environment. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and prior store management experience in retail or grocery settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom according to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follows procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
