Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure inventory, payroll, and loss prevention tasks are performed efficiently.

The role emphasizes maintaining organized stockrooms, high-energy teamwork, and a safe, friendly store environment. Full-time position with opportunities for growth in retail leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and able to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (walking, standing, bending, etc.).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store functions and activities.
• Help customers with questions and concerns in a positive manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications for store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll records, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
