Job summary

Big Lots is seeking an Assistant Manager/Key Carrier to support customer service and assist the Store Manager with store operations. You will help hire and train staff, manage daily activities, and ensure compliance with policies while protecting assets.

Candidates should have retail or leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks and work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, training, and developing store team members as delegated by the Store Manager.
• Support store operations and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the Store Manager's absence.
• Protect company assets, including cash, and follow safety guidelines.
• Maintain professional, friendly customer interactions and store standards.
• Direct hourly team members when Store Manager is not on site.
• Assist with merchandising, stockroom organization, and freight flow.
• Meet productivity standards and assist with stock replenishment.
