Job summary

Big Lots is seeking motivated individuals to support our Stores as we provide essential products at great values to the communities we serve. The Assistant Manager/Key Carrier will support the Store Manager, deliver excellent customer service, and help run the store operations to meet company goals.

You will lead by example in daily store functions, assist with hiring/training, manage opening and closing in the Manager's absence, protect assets, and ensure safety and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Flexible, part-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, training and development of store team members.
• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Open/close procedures in the Store Manager's absence.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Maintain store areas to company standards and ensure a safe environment.
