Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will assist with supervision of staff, merchandise presentation, deposits, and daily operations.

You'll perform stocking, cashiering, and other duties to maximize profitability while protecting assets; travel to bank deposits may be required and opportunities for growth exist within the company.

Qualifications

• Requires strong customer service and communication skills.
• Minimum high school diploma; retail supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with cash handling, deposits, and basic financial controls.
• Ability to manage merchandise, inventory, and planograms with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership at the point of sale.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training staff, and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking, and display rotation.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and document damages and markdowns.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures; assist with deposits.
