Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store and support the Store Manager with supervision, merchandising, and deposits. Responsibilities include stocking, cashiering, scheduling, training, and ensuring policy compliance.

You will also help maintain inventory, execute planograms, and protect assets while maximizing profitability. The role requires strong communication, organization, and cash handling skills in a retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Minimum one year in retail and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanners and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and control variances.
• Assist with planograms and store presentation per direction.
• Ensure financial integrity via cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
