Job summary

Big O Tires is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the Kansas City area to oversee daily store operations and deliver outstanding customer service. You will lead staff, ensure timely opening/closing, promote service sales, and support training and policy execution.

The role requires 18+ years, retail or automotive experience, and the ability to manage inventories, POS systems, and basic finances. Flexibility to work oranges weekends and holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain state Motor Vehicle Inspection license within one year of hire.
• Experience in retail or automotive sales or service.
• Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials.
• Ability to perform basic math including averages and percentages.
• Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
• Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular hours as needed.
• Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Build effective relationships with customers and store staff and motivate employees to deliver positive customer experiences.
• Ensure prompt and consistent opening and closing of location based on store hours of operation.
• Perform all aspects of store operations including customer service, sales, shop management and office responsibilities.
• Promote sales by explaining benefits of service and products to customers.
• Perform vehicle inspections and promote needed products and services with customers and management.
• Assist in training and execution of company programs, policies, and procedures.
• Guide staff in resolving difficult questions or customer concerns.
• Set goals and strategies with Store Manager to meet budgeted sales, GP, expenses, and payroll objectives.
• Assist in financial aspects including reviewing P&L statements, balance sheets, payroll projections, and cash handling.
