Job summary

MFA Petroleum Company is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for a Big O Tires location in Missouri. This role supervises store operations, supports customer service, and drives sales while managing daily activities and staff in coordination with the Store Manager.

The position requires leadership, retail or automotive experience, and availability for holidays and weekends. Benefits include competitive wages, paid time off, and company incentives.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain state Motor Vehicle Inspection license within one year of hire.
• Previous experience in retail or automotive sales or service.
• Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Proficient computer skills and office productivity tools.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license to move customer vehicles in/out of shop area.
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and after hours as needed.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with customers and staff to deliver positive experiences.
• Ensure timely opening/closing based on store hours.
• Handle store operations: service, sales, shop management, and administration.
• Explain benefits to promote sales of services/products.
• Perform vehicle inspections and promote needed services; review work orders.
• Assist in managing store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Support training and execution of company programs and policies.
• Guide staff in resolving customer concerns and questions.
• Set goals with the Store Manager to meet sales, gross profit and payroll targets.
• Assist with financials: analyze P&L, balance sheets, payroll projections; AR collections; cash handling; bank deposits; adjustments.
• Monitor employee productivity and inventory replenishment; month-end counts.
• Prepare reports and share information with company personnel.
• Attend weekly store meetings to review safety, policies, and product updates.
• Manage ticket average and profitability to meet company expectations.
• Ensure facilities and equipment meet MFA standards.
• Complete required training such as Today's Class Technician courses.
• Adhere to policies; may perform other duties as assigned.
