Take 5 Oil Change in Texas is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager who is career-minded, enjoys working with people, takes pride in doing things the right way, and is ready to help lead a fast-paced team. In this role, you’ll support the Shop Manager with daily operations, team development, and fast, friendly customer service.

You’ll step in as Manager on Duty when needed, helping the team stay focused while keeping the shop safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide direction, coaching, and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Complete our Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing company procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
