Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change in Texas is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager who is career-minded, enjoys working with people, and is ready to help lead a fast-paced team on the shop floor.

In this role you’ll support the Shop Manager with daily operations, team development, and fast, friendly customer experience. Automotive experience is valued but not required, and paid training helps you learn the Take 5 way.

Qualifications

• 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Ability to meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work location.

Responsibilities

• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
