Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead a fast-paced service team on the shop floor. You will support the Shop Manager with daily operations, staff development, and delivering a high-quality, speedy customer experience while maintaining safety standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, training new associates, and stepping in as Manager on Duty as needed. Automotive experience is valued but not required, and comprehensive hands-on training is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Ability to stay calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Must meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed, coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and respond to customer needs while resolving concerns.
• Ensure services are completed accurately, safely, and in line with company procedures and standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities.
• Train new team members and provide real-time coaching and feedback to reinforce expectations.
