Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to support daily operations, coach team members, and deliver fast, friendly service on the shop floor. Leadership happens on site, and you’ll help guide a fast-paced team while upholding Take 5 standards.

You’ll step in as Manager on Duty, ensure safe, efficient operations, participate in paid hands‑on training to learn the technical skills and service standards, and develop leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast‑paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety policies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coach and provide feedback.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow‑through.
• Ability to stay calm, organized, and solutions‑focused during busy periods.
• Must meet applicable age and certification requirements including Inspector Certification where required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work location.

Responsibilities

• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Complete our Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty by coordinating workflow and leading the team.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and address customer needs.
• Ensure services are accurate and compliant with procedures and safety standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying improvement opportunities and taking on leadership tasks.
• Train new team members with real‑time coaching and feedback.
• Perform Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and follow‑up.
