Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to lead a fast-paced team on the shop floor. You will support the Shop Manager with daily operations, team development, and a fast, friendly customer experience, stepping in as Manager on Duty when needed to keep the shop safe, efficient, and running smoothly.

We provide paid, hands-on training to teach the Take 5 way. Automotive experience is valued, but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months' experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Ability to meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Support Shop Manager with daily operations and team development.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed, coordinating workflow and ensuring safe, efficient service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and address customer needs and concerns.
• Train new team members and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Complete opening and closing procedures and assist with inventory adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
