Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead a fast-paced team on the shop floor. You will support the Shop Manager with daily operations, customer experience, and team development, stepping in as Manager on Duty when needed to keep the shop safe and efficient.

We provide paid hands-on training to teach the Take 5 service standards. Automotive experience is valued but not required, with strong growth opportunities through our internal promotion path.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following facility and safety policies and practices.
• Strong communication and ability to provide direction and feedback to team.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Ability to stay calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Reliable transportation to and from work location.

Responsibilities

• Support the Shop Manager with daily operations and team development.
• Step in as Manager on Duty as needed to maintain safe, efficient service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and respond to customer needs.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently with procedures and safety standards.
• Identify opportunities for shop improvements and take on leadership tasks when manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members and provide real-time coaching.
• Perform Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Support daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Coordinate shop communications and follow-up.
