Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to support daily operations, lead a fast-paced team, and deliver a friendly, efficient customer experience on the shop floor.

You will step in as Manager on Duty, train new team members, coach staff, manage opening/closing, and help drive safety, quality, and performance while upholding Take 5 standards. Previous automotive experience is valued but not required, with paid training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment delivering consistent and exceptional customer service experience for every customer.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
• The ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• The ability to meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
