Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead a fast-paced, customer-focused team on the shop floor. You will support the Shop Manager with daily operations, team development and a high-quality customer experience.

We provide paid training to develop technical skills and service standards; automotive experience is valued but not required. This role offers growth from shop to leadership positions through performance and consistency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment delivering consistent and exceptional customer service experience for every customer.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing company procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
