Job summary

Shelter Corporation is seeking an Assistant Real Estate Manager to support Irongate Apartments in Ruskin, FL, a 55+ affordable LIHTC community. You will assist with leasing, resident relations, collections, compliance, and day-to-day operations under the guidance of the Real Estate Manager.

The role requires strong organization, excellent customer service, and the ability to work with the property team to ensure occupancy and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of affordable housing or LIHTC experience preferred.
• Experience with LIHTC compliance, income certifications, leasing, collections, and resident relations preferred.
• Experience with Yardi or a similar property management system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Real Estate Manager with daily community operations and provide leadership and office coverage as needed.
• Assist with leasing and lease-up activities, including prospect follow-up, applications, lease preparation, move-ins, and move-outs.
• Provide responsive, professional service to prospective residents throughout the leasing process to support occupancy and lease-up goals.
• Process rent payments, maintain resident ledgers, and assist with delinquency management, notices, payment arrangements, and collections.
• Support eviction processes in accordance with company procedures and applicable requirements.
• Support LIHTC compliance and age-restricted housing requirements.
• Process resident applications, income certifications, recertifications, and other required compliance documentation while maintaining organized files.
