Job summary

Shelter Corporation in Tampa is seeking a dependable Assistant Real Estate Manager to support the day-to-day operations of Madison Highlands I and II, 55+ LIHTC communities. You will assist with leasing, resident relations, collections, compliance, and reporting, coordinating with the Real Estate Manager and maintenance team to ensure occupancy, timely payments, and audit-ready files.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in affordable housing, LIHTC exposure, and proficiency with Yardi or similar

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3 years of affordable housing or LIHTC experience preferred.
• Experience with LIHTC compliance, income certifications, leasing, collections, and resident relations preferred.
• Experience with Yardi or a similar property management system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Real Estate Manager with daily operations and provide leadership when needed.
• Assist with leasing and lease-up activities, including applications and move-ins.
• Provide professional service to prospective residents throughout the leasing process.
• Process rent payments, maintain resident ledgers, and assist with delinquency management and collections.
• Support LIHTC compliance, income certifications, recertifications, and audit-ready files.
• Coordinate with maintenance for work orders, unit turns, and move-in readiness.
• Prepare and deliver resident notices and communications.
• Assist with reporting related to occupancy, leasing activity, and compliance.
