Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager on electrical utility construction projects in a Baltimore-area setting.

The role covers safety, scheduling, budgeting, estimating, cost reporting, and customer communications. The successful candidate will bring 1–4 years of related experience, a BS/BA in a related field, and strong organizational and communication skills; familiarity with Primavera P6 and MS Project is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• 1–4 years of Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related experience in a utility construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of systems and processes for accounting, reporting of project costs, billing, scheduling, material procurement, subcontractors, record keeping and budgeting.
• Assist in tracking key performance and financial metrics to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Assist in preparation of proposals and estimates, including drawing take-offs.
• Set up job structure with Project Manager including safety, scheduling, document control, cost codes and budgeting.
• Assist in handoff from estimating to field supervision and in monthly financial bridges and forecasts.
• Communicate with customer and field management to maintain schedule and resources.
• Ensure timely billing and payment follow-through.
