Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager who supports safety, planning, scheduling, cost monitoring, bidding and customer reporting on electrical utility construction projects.

You will work with the Project Manager to develop systems, track KPIs, prepare estimates, coordinate material orders, and ensure on-time project delivery while maintaining safety and quality. Travel to sites and provide weekly progress updates are expected.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• 1–4 years of Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related experience in a utility construction environment.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of systems for accounting, reporting of project costs, billing, scheduling, procurement, and budgeting.
• Develop and track key performance and financial metrics to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Prepare proposals and estimates, including drawings take-offs.
• Set up job structure with safety, scheduling, document control plan, cost codes and budgeting.
• Assist in handoff from estimating to field supervision and coordinate material orders.
• Travel to project sites regularly and provide weekly progress updates to the Project Manager.
• Assist with change orders, monthly financial bridges, and write-ups of monthly reports.
