Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, seeks an Assistant Project Manager in the United States to support the Project Manager in safety, planning, scheduling, cost control and reporting.

This role involves budgeting, estimating, change orders, billing and bid development for utility construction projects. You will assist with proposals, track performance metrics, coordinate with purchasing for material orders and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related experience in a utility construction environment.
• BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop systems for proper accounting, cost reporting, customer billing, scheduling, material procurement and budgeting.
• Track key performance and financial metrics to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Assist in proposals and estimates, including drawing take-offs.
• Set up job structure with safety, scheduling, document control, cost codes and billing.
• Assist handoff from estimating to field supervision and coordinate material orders.
• Provide weekly progress updates to the Project Manager.
• Assist with change orders, monthly forecasts and written reports.
• Coordinate with customers and field management to maintain schedule and resources.
