Job summary

MPI in Chicago is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support Project Managers on commercial construction projects across healthcare, retail, office and education sectors, while gaining exposure to all facets of project management.

The role emphasizes mentorship, with opportunities for career development. You will assist with scheduling, RFI tracking, submittals, documentation, coordination with subcontractors, meeting notes, budget tracking, and project closeout support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of construction experience.
  • Internship experience considered.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project scheduling and coordination.
  • Track RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Maintain project documentation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare meeting notes.
