Job summary

MPI seeks a Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager for our Southeast commercial construction operations. You will assist in developing detailed project plans, coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders, and help track budgets and schedules.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management and at least one year of experience in commercial construction, eager to learn and grow in a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Experience: atleast a full year in commercial construction as Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager.
  • Strong follow-through, attention to detail, and anticipation of project needs.
  • Comfortable supporting schedule updates, cost tracking, procurement, and change management processes.
  • Works well under pressure, adaptable, solutions oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eager to learn, open to mentorship, and driven to grow into a future Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of project aspects with stakeholder's expectations.
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, and daily logs.
  • Prepare and distribute regular progress reports to the project manager and stakeholders.
  • Assist in tracking project budgets and expenditures.
  • Help in preparing cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Help develop and update project schedules.
  • Provide on-site support to the project manager and site supervisors.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
