Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in running the drive-in restaurant. You will train and coach Team Members, Carhops, and Skating Carhops, while ensuring clean, safe, and efficient operations and a positive guest experience.

You will help manage staffing, inventory, and costs, perform opening/closing duties, and uphold SONIC standards of service and appearance. A strong supervisor mindset and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• General knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry or retail operations.
• Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry level retail management experience.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy; multi-task and problem-solve.
• Willingness to abide by SONIC appearance, uniform and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in managing drive-in operations.
• Train and support Team / Crew Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Direct and assign staff to meet operational standards.
• Open and/or close the restaurant as needed.
• Monitor staffing, inventory, and food cost; complete weekly inventory.
• Maintain records and documentation; support guest satisfaction.
