Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and protect the property's physical integrity. You will work with the leasing team to optimize renewals, ensuring safety and compliance with policies.

The role requires hands-on trades knowledge, strong communication in English, and flexibility for on-call coverage. Our benefits include health options and 401(k) matching, with clear growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in apartment maintenance or a related trade.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA certification for refrigerants required (recovery/transition).
• Strong verbal and written English; bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests within 24 hours.
• Manage system for handling resident service requests; schedule on-call rotation.
• Ensure all work complies with company policies and state/federal laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
• Assist in distributing flyers and other materials.
• Keep safety materials current and inspect property for unsafe conditions.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and make-ready status.
• Schedule and perform minor and routine maintenance on equipment; inspect tools.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related systems.
• Handle on-call duties and standby emergency coverage as needed.
• Prepare the property for inspections and assist with any additional duties.
