Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and protect the property’s physical integrity. You will work with the leasing team to maximize renewals and leasing opportunities while prioritizing safety and policy compliance.

Candidates should have at least two years in apartment maintenance or related trades, HS diploma, and tools. EPA certification and driver’s license are required; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time apartment maintenance experience or a related trade.
• HS diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA certification (refrigerant, transition, recovery) required.
• English communication skills; Spanish helpful.
• Own a basic set of hand tools and valid driver’s license.
• Able to travel within metro areas and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours.
• Manage system for handling service requests; schedule staff on-call rotations.
• Ensure safety and compliance with ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA, and company policies.
• Distribute flyers and related materials as needed.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance, service requests, and make-ready status.
• Schedule and perform minor maintenance on equipment; inspect tools.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and other systems daily.
