Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and uphold property safety and integrity. You will collaborate with leasing to maximize renewals, handle service requests, and ensure tasks meet policy standards.

You should have at least two years of apartment maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and EPA certification. Valid driver’s license and hand tools are required. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time apartment maintenance experience or a trade with basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.
• EPA certification (refrigerant handling) required.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours whenever possible.
• Assist maintenance supervisor and manage on-call rotation.
• Maintain safety policies and property conditions; correct unsafe conditions.
• Maintain preventive maintenance records and make-ready status for vacancies.
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and other systems.
• Assist in inspections and standby emergency schedules.
• Travel to multiple locations as needed; weekends may be required.
