Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance who supports the maintenance supervisor and helps keep the property in good condition, while collaborating with the leasing team to maximize renewals and leasing opportunities. This role emphasizes safety and adherence to policies as well as performing routine and minor repairs on building systems.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time apartment maintenance or related trade experience.
• EPA refrigerant certification is required or preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours when possible.
• Assist in handling the system for resident service requests and on-call rotation.
• Follow company policies and applicable laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
• Assist in distributing flyers and materials.
• Maintain safety materials and correct unsafe conditions.
• Keep records of preventive maintenance and make-ready status of vacant units.
• Schedule and perform routine maintenance on equipment and inspect tools.
• Perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related repairs.
• Participate in standby emergency schedules and on-call duties.
• Prepare the property for inspections and assist as needed.
